Outlook - Delete Auto Pop-Up E-Mail Addresses

If you use Outlook for emails, then I am sure most all of you have come across this problem.

Say for instance you need to send an email to Greg Jones, so you start typing "g" into the TO area of your email.  A list of G emails pop up at this point.  You select the email and off it goes.  Then...oh no, you realized it was sent to George Johnson instead, who has a very similar email.  This is so frustrating and sensitive information can accidentally get sent this way as well (which we should all still be double checking the emails we send to but hey, we are only human, right?)

There is a very easy solution.  Most of us would think to go into our contacts and delete it that way but a lot of times we send emails without adding them to our contacts.  This is where these email address are stored, like a temporary cache area.

At the point that you see the drop down box of emails, simply use the down scroll arrow to highlight the email address you no longer use and hit the DELETE button.  Viola, you will no longer see that email again.  But be careful, this is permanent and if you do not know that email address and need to use it again, this is the part that you might want to make sure you DO have it in your contacts.

Hope this helps some of you out there as I know how frustrating it can be to send an email to the WRONG person!

ENJOY!
