Quickly search without typing or leaving your current screen - Microsoft Edge & Bing Quick Search

The new Microsoft Edge has quickly become my favorite browser. It has some great features and one of the extensions offered is called Bing Quick Search.

This allows you to highlight a word or phrase and search it without leaving the page you're on or even having to type anything.  You can even search images.

Chrome option

In Google Chrome - you can still search using Bing, only thing is, it leaves the current tab and opens a new one. This extension is not available in Chrome.

1.  Download the extension here and follow the on-screen prompts.

2.  Once the extension is installed, you'll see a magnifying glass in the top right corner indicating it is active.

3. Highlight the word(s) you want to search and three vertical dots will appear above as you're still hovering, once you move your mouse it disappears.

If that happens, simply right click on what you just   highlighted and select Search in sidebar for "(what   you highlighted will be inserted here)"

If you can remember key combos, after highlighting,   you can do CONTROL + SHIFT + E to make the   side search bar appear.

After it is up, you can search from there for any and   all searches, again, never having to leave the page.   You can either type, if you choose, or do it the more   lazy way and just highlight.
